The application forms will be available from 28/01/2023 till 12/02/2023. It is being conducted in English language. The result date will be announced later.

Educational Qualification:

  • Passed Senior Secondary Examination (10+2 Pattern)  or its equivalent examinations from any Board with at least 70% aggregate marks in  Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) and at least 50% marks in English (either in Class X or Class XII).

Selection Procedure:

  • IHQ MoD (Navy) reserves the right to fix the cut off for shortlisting of applications for SSB based on JEE (Main) All India Common Rank List (CRL) - 2022.
  • All candidates are required to fill their Rank as per Common Rank List (CRL) in the application. SSB interviews for shortlisted candidates will be scheduled at Bangalore/ Bhopal/ Kolkata/ Visakhapatnam from Mar – Apr 2023.
  • Shortlisted candidates will be informed about their selection for SSB interview on their E-mail or through SMS as provided by candidates in their application form. Candidates are advised not to change mobile number and e-mail ID till the selection process is complete.
  • Details of SSB procedure are available on Indian Navy website.
  • Change of SSB venue for interview is not permissible under any circumstances.
  • Any correspondence regarding further change of SSB date is to be addressed to the Call up Officer of the concerned SSB. Award of fresh dates for SSB would be subject to availability of batches/slots.
  • No compensation will be paid in respect of any injury sustained as a result of tests during SSB Interview.
  • AC 3 tier rail fare is admissible for the SSB interview, if appearing for the first time for particular type of commission on production of tickets. Candidates are required to carry photo copy of the first page of bank passbook or cheque leaf where the name, account No. and IFS Code details are mentioned while appearing for SSB.

Training:

  • Selected Candidates will be inducted as Cadets for the four years B.Tech Course in Applied Electronics & Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Electronics & Communication Engineering as per Naval requirements. On completion of the course, B. Tech Degree will be awarded by the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU). Distribution of cadets amongst Executive and Technical Branch (Engineering & Electrical) will be as per the extant policy.
  • The entire cost of training, including books and reading material, will be borne by the Indian Navy. The cadets will also be provided with entitled clothing and messing.

Application Form Filling Instructions

Who can Apply:

  • Candidates who have appeared for JEE (Main) - 2022 exam (for B.E/ B. Tech). Call up for Service Selection Board (SSB) will be issued on the basis of JEE (Main) All India Common Rank List (CRL) - 2022 published by NTA.

How to Apply:

  • Candidates are to register and submit their application on the recruitment website www.joinindiannavy.gov.in from 28 Jan 2023. To save time during the application submission window, candidates can fill in their details and upload documents in advance under their user profile. The procedure for applying online is explained below.

  • Please read the instructions given on the website carefully before  finally submitting your online application.
  • Your application is subject to subsequent scrutiny. The application  can be rejected, if found INELIGIBLE/INVALID at any point of time.
  • After closing of online application, no request will be entertained for  amendment in the uploaded documents. 
  • Your candidature will be cancelled if any declaration  is found wrong at any stage of selection process.

More Information

Medical Standards.

All candidates recommended by SSB will have to undergo medicals as per extant  regulations. There is no relaxation in medical standard on any ground. Guidelines for medical standards are available on the Indian Navy website.

  • Relaxations in height is permissible to candidates holding domicile of specific regions, details of which are available on the Indian Navy website.

Tattoo:

  • Guidelines for tattoo are available on the Indian Navy website.

Narcotics:

  • Use/Possession of narcotics is banned. Candidate may be tested for presence of drugs in the body during SSB selection/medicals/training and subsequently during service. If candidate is found to be using/in possession of narcotics during any time of selection/medicals/training/service career, candidate would be debarred from joining the Indian Navy or be removed from service if already joined.

Examination Day Instructions

Before entering the Exam Centre
  • Try to reach the exam centre one hour prior to the time advised in the admit card.
  • Before leaving for the site, please have a hearty breakfast or light lunch depending on the session.
  • Drink plenty of fluids; as in summers dehydration can set in affecting your performance in the exam.
  • Have a cookie or a chocolate just before entering the centre; this prevents hypoglycaemia and thus helps you stay alert longer improving your results.
  • If it is a busy centre, then don’t wait till last for the entry and security check.
  • Centre will not allow you to enter after the stipulated time of closing the doors.
  • Admission to the Exam Centre is with the Admit Card; no candidates shall be admitted to the test without the production of the Admit Card at the Test Centre.
  • Usually no bags are allowed.
  • No eatables are allowed.
  • No communication equipment such as mobile phones / pager / wireless set / scanner / camera or any such electronic / digital gadget etc are allowed in the exam centre; carrying one will lead to disqualification.
After entering the centre
  • Once candidates enter the centre, they should locate their designated hall and seat.
  • After all the formalities, candidates should enter the allotted hall and take the designated seat.
  • For Objective Type question papers, rough work is to be done in the space provided for this purpose. No rough work is allowed on the OMR Answer Sheet under any situation.
  • Questions have to be answered on the answer sheet only.
  • Copying, use of unfair means of any kind, talking, asking questions from other candidates or borrowing of material inside the Test Centre is strictly prohibited.
  • The candidates are to return their OMR answer-sheets and the question paper in full to the Centre Superintendent. Tearing or taking away of the question paper is not allowed failing which the candidates shall be disqualified from the entire Entrance Test.
  • Misbehaviour of any kind can lead to expulsion of the candidate.
  • Caught copying helping in copying will mean cancellation of the answer sheet / cancellation of the candidature.
  • Marking the answer sheet or question paper in any way will also lead to cancellation of the exam for that candidate.
