The students who have qualified UGC(NET) / UGC-CSIR (JRF) examination / SLET / GATE / GPAT / ICAR / INSPIRE / Rajiv Gandhi Fellowship awardees / teacher-fellowship holders, or have passed M.Phil. from Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar / qualifying GNDU Ph.D. Eligibility Test with validity Certificate will be eligible to apply for Ph.D. Admission.. The UGC / CSIR / INSPIRE / Rajiv Gandhi Fellowship awardees or candidates who are awarded fellowships directly by these or other funding agencies for the purpose of pursuing Ph.D. can be enrolled any time during the session. NET / GATE qualified project fellows appointed against financed projects of at least two years duration can also be registered for Ph.D. any time during the session.
Master’s degree with at least 55% marks (6.18 CGPA out of 10) or 50% marks (5.62 CGPA out of 10) for SC / ST / OBC (non - creamy layer) / differently - abled candidates of Guru Nanak Dev University or an equivalent degree of recognized Indian University in the subject concerned or allied-field.
Those students, who have passed their qualifying examinations (Masters) under Distance Education Mode, ODL Mode & Lateral Entry Scheme from the Central Universities / State Universities / other Govt. Institutions / Deemed Universities / Private Universities and or also under Regular Mode from Deemed / Private Universities, will have to check the equivalence of their qualified examinations from Equivalence Book (www.gndu.ac.in - University Links / Information Desk / General Branch Information Desk) or contact to the Equivalence Section of the General Branch, Administration Block before applying for admission to the respective subject in Ph.D. If any candidate gets admitted without checking the equivalency of their previous qualification and is subsequently found ineligible then the concerned candidate and the concerned department will be responsible for all the consequences arising therefrom.
Counseling will be held on 16/01/2020 in the respective departments.
