The checking and evaluation process comprises two methods for analyzing the answer sheets. These methods are:
1. Digital Evaluation
This is a newly invented system for the evaluation of answer sheets. In this process, scanned copies of the answer sheets are uploaded on the server and sent to specific checkers across India. This is an easier evaluation method because there is no need to move the sheets from one place to another. The only drawback of this process is that it is time-consuming. Teachers find it a bit difficult to check the papers on screens as compared to the manual checking. This system is not yet possible in all parts of the country.
2. Manual Evaluation
This is a traditional method that is used across the country. The answer sheets are collected from the center, where the exam is conducted, and sent to the evaluation centers for checking. Teachers are hired from both private and government sectors. Sheets are allotted to the group of teachers for the evaluation.
The bad face of the Evaluation Process of CBSE Board:
Though most of the time students are happy with the results sometimes, complaints arise about the evaluation process. Students complain about the reduction in the marks as per their expectations. Therefore many students opt for a re-evaluation of the paper after the result is declared. There is no 100 percent transparency in the CBSE Evaluation Process, that is why students can not estimate their marks.
Tips and tricks to score well in the Evaluation Process
1. Students should focus on the format, presentation, markup, writing, etc. if they desire to get good marks.
2. Explaining relatable subheadings and highlighting the key points will grab the attention of the checker.
3. Checkers are allotted so many answer sheets that they might feel tired at some point. Students need to present a neat and clean copy of the answer sheet to score excellent marks from the evaluator.
4. The evaluation process is seldom based on the luck of the student as well. So it is more beneficial to complete the paper without leaving any questions. Sometimes students even get marks for the repeated questions due to the carelessness of the teachers.
5. The answers are assessed based on the concepts provided by the NCERT books. Pupils should understand each concept from that book deeply to score well.
