CLAT 2026 Eligibility for UG Courses
The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) is a national level entrance exam for admission to undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) law programmes offered for admission to 22 National Law Universities in India. This exam is conducted by the Consortium of National Law Universities consisting of the representative universities. CLAT 2026 will be conducted on 01 Dec 2025. Registration is open and will remain open until 31 October 2025
There are certain eligibility criteria laid down, which are given below
- No upper age limit for UG admissions in CLAT 2026.
- Minimum percentage of marks in the qualifying examination - 10+2 or an equivalent exam, the students must have secured:
- 45% marks or its equivalent grade in case of candidates belonging to General / OBC / PWD / NRI / PIO / OCI categories
- 40% marks or equivalent in the case of candidates belonging to SC/ST categories.
- Students appearing in this year’s 12th class exams are also eligible to appear in CLAT 2026 examination. They will be required to produce certificate of their passing the qualifying examination at the time of admission, as per criteria laid down.
- If two or more students get similar marks the following procedure and order as under will be followed:
- Higher marks in the component / section on legal aptitude in the CLAT 2026 exam
- Higher age
- Computerised draw of lots.
