Future of the Sports and Gaming Industry

 

The world's sporting and gaming industry, especially in the world, especially in India, is steadily on the rise with sponsor fantasy games like MPL, Dream11 and other related companies sponsoring massive domestic leagues. Even the Indian premier league, which has resulted in rapid involvement of customers in these kinds of games and the future of the sporting and gaming industry in the country looks high and progressing each day.

The popularity and rise of video games have been rising consistently for years. And the trend has only gotten stronger as individuals hunt for new ways to socialise and pass the time during the pandemic. The gaming industry has surpassed both the movie and sports industries in size.
According to a survey by industry research company SuperData, gaming revenue increased by 12 per cent in 2020, rising to $139.9 billion from $120.1 billion in 2019. And at one point in the previous year, four out of every five Americans had played a video game in the six months prior. 
With the advent of artificial intelligence, there has been a rise in many new fields in the gaming industry like Cloud Gaming, augmented reality, High-Fidelity Graphics, The Metaverse and Virtual Realit

The sports industry is easily one of the biggest industries in the world. The sports sector of the future will likely appear significantly different from that of the present. It foresees the construction of intelligent stadiums with holographic displays, video walls, seating depending on social media followers, and virtual reality applications. In addition to real places, players will also compete in virtual ones.
Athletes, club owners, fans, and society are all being impacted by changes in the sports sector. Technological advancements introduce new strategies for performance improvement in coaching and training. Sports fans will benefit from new technology like virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), and others by getting closer to their favourite athletes and learning new things about the games they love.


Rise of esports

Although the esports industry is expanding virtually, money is made there. For instance, according to Forbes, Cloud9, the world's most valued esports team and organisation, is worth $310 million. Forbes estimates that esports income reached $906 million in 2018 and will increase to $1.65 billion by 2021. Esports could take the top spot in the professional sports sector thanks to increased realism and a soaring fan base. Enhancements like VR and AR technologies will make participating in esports and watching the sport's future stars more thrilling and engaging, which might draw in more players and viewers.
