In Uttarakhand, admission and counseling process for filling Undergraduate Medical/dental seats are administered by Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna Uttarakhand Medical Education University. The aim is to fill around 597 MBBS and 100 BDS seats in the medical and dental colleges of Uttarakhand. The admission to these seats will be based on the NEET 2026 Score. Out of these seats, 85% seats are state quota seats for which Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna Uttarakhand Medical Education University will conduct online counselling on the basis of scores obtained in NEET UG and 15% are AIQ seats which will be filled by MCC on the basis of NEET 2026 Score.

Admission Process
For admission to MBBS/BDS courses in Uttarakhand, candidates were required to register online by filling out the application form which is available from 13-08-2026 (11:00 AM) to 24-08-2026 (up to 05:00 PM, as server Time).

Counselling Process
For Uttarakhand MBBS/BDS admissions, total of three rounds of counselling will be conducted including a mop-up round. The admission authority will separately release the state merit list for each round. The list will be prepared on the basis of NEET-2026 score and it would include the details like name, roll number, NEET overall AIR, NEET marks, percentile, and date of birth.
Round-I:
Candidates need to fill their choices from 13-08-2026 to 24-08-2026 of colleges as well courses, in which they want to get admission. The choices once filled cannot be edited. Based on these choices and courses filled, NEET score & rank, seat availability and reservation criteria, Uttarakhand MBBS/BDS 2026 admission will be granted for round-I of counseling.
The admission authority will publish the state merit list for 1st round on 27-08-2026. Aspirants whose names will be displayed in the seat allotment result of round one will need to report at the allotted institute for document submission and medical checkup. The candidate will have to compulsorily join the college and course so allotted, then only the candidate will be eligible to participate in second round of counseling.
Note: If a candidate allotted a seat in 1st Round and even if the candidate does not report/join the allotted college, he/she would not be penalized and will be eligible for subsequent rounds. Candidates who have taken admission against the allotted seats will be permitted for course/college/quota up-gradation upto second round of counseling only. The registered candidate who does not get allotment to any College may participate in the next round of counselling.
Round-II
After round-I of counseling, the authority will conduct a second round of counseling to fill all the vacant seats/ surrendered/ forfeited/ cancelled/ newly added seats as per the schedule listed above.
Note: If a candidate allotted a seat in 2nd round of counselling and does not want to join the allotted seat he/she can still exit with forfeiture (losing security amount deposited) and once candidate joined the allotted seat would not be eligible to vacate/resign/surrender the seat. If a candidate does not report at the allotted college during Round II, then he has to register again for Mop-Up round, candidate security amount will be forfeited and he/she will have to register fresh in Mop-Up round with Fresh Payment (registration fee and security amount both).
Mop up round-I (for MBBS & BDS both)
Candidates who are registering for the first time; who have registered but not allotted seat in Round I & Round II; candidates except those who are holding/joined a seat of Round I or Round II; who have joined seat in Round II of Deemed/ Central Universities are not eligible for Mop up round of counseling.
College level counselling for stray vacancies (for MBBS & BDS both)
The list of ten times (of the registered candidates for mop-up round only) of number of Stray vacancies will be send to medical/dental colleges to be filled in the order of merit. There will be no fresh registration of candidates in stray vacancy round. Candidates admitted in Mop-up round will not be included in the list.
Stray round-II (for BDS only)
The procedure will be same as Stray round-I.
