Usually, new sessions for management institutes affiliated with AICTE begin from the 30th of June annually. However, due to the coronavirus pandemic, this has been postponed and declared in the Revised Academic Calendar of the AICTE affiliate colleges. Existing students are likely to join college from the 16th of August, while the new session for various management institutions is going to resume from the 1st of August.
Classes for courses in Engineering, Pharmacy, Architecture, and other similar courses will resume from the 16th of August, while classes of new batches are likely to begin from the 15th of September.
The academic session and teaching process relating to this will also include lateral entry into second year courses. For courses of PGDM and PGCM, the date is likely to be different.
AICTE has also asked colleges to complete the first round of their counselling and begin the admission process as well before the 30th of August, and 16th of August for Distance Learning Courses.
While the new calendar has been officially released, AICTE has asked affiliate colleges to admit students on a provisional basis since their undergraduate course results may not have been declared. These students would have to show a successful completion certificate by the end of the year.
AICTE has also asked institutions to not hike fees for this academic year and to pay salaries to staff on time since it could lead to great stress, and even starvation for some staff families.
