January 3, 2021, is the date allotted for Tamil Nadu Civil Services Exams for Group 1. Due to the Covid19 pandemic situation, the exams were postponed from April 5, 2020. The admit cards for TN civil services will be issued soon. The Tamil Nadu Public Service Commissions has concluded the application submission process of TN Civil Services in February 2020 only. This is a preliminary exam to recruit for 69 vacancies in Tamil Nadu Fire and Rescue Services, TN Panchayat Development Service, TN Co-operative Service, TN Commercial Taxes Service, and TN Civil Service. Candidates who will qualify for the prelims will be eligible to appear for the mains and interview.
Important instructions for TNPSC Group 1 Prelims Examination are:
1. Candidates to use only the black point pen on the OMR sheets. Other colored-pens are not allowed.
2. The exam will take place at 856 examination centers in 32 districts.
3. Candidates should enter the examination center before 9.15 AM. They will not be allowed to leave the examination center before 1.15 PM.
4. There is no negative marking in TNPSC Group 1 Exam.
The Group 1 Exam is conducted in 3 stages
1. Prelims- One Objective Paper- 300 Marks. This exam will carry questions related to general studies (in both Tamil and English languages), aptitude, and mental ability tests.
2. Mains- Three Descriptive Papers- 750 Marks total
3. Interview- 100 Marks
Last year 60 candidates made it to the final merit list released by Union Service Public Commission. Out of 829 successful candidates, at least 7% were from Tamil Nadu.
