The technology vendor, TCS iON, has issued a public apology for the disruption. The NTA has announced that new dates will soon be released for the 3,765 affected students who had to abandon the exam.
CUET UG 2026 Faces Major Technical Disruption on 30th May Across Exam Centres
The country's second-largest examination, the CUET-UG 2026, has also fallen victim to technical flaws and mismanagement. During the CUET examination held on 30 May, widespread chaos erupted at numerous centres across the country due to technical glitches.
NTA Confirms Re-Exam for 3,765 Affected Candidates
Following this major controversy, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially announced that new dates for the examination will be released shortly for candidates affected by the technical glitches.
The second shift was the most affected, with students waiting for hours.
This digital failure on Saturday, 30th May, caused mental distress for thousands of students. The failure of central system components meant the test could not start on time at examination centres. This had the greatest impact on students in the second shift, who were left waiting helplessly, both inside and outside the centres, for hours after the scheduled start time.
NTA's clarification: The NTA issued an update on the social media platform “X”, acknowledging that some centres had experienced technical difficulties at the start of the first shift as well. The NTA said, ‘We understand that this situation was extremely stressful for the students, and we apologise for the mental distress it caused.’
