As we all know, 2020 was the year that mostly affected the education system in India in many ways. Millions of students have dropped out of school due to poor economic conditions. And everyone is eagerly waiting for the new budget of 2021 for the education system. Schools of India were closed for over 11 months and have caused a lot of loss to the education of almost 260 million.
To secure the future and rights of these students, NHRC advisory is planning ways. They will try to recover the previous year’s study as well due to the long-time span of no education. This will help to recover almost 40% of their knowledge and for this thing, the budget must include additional study materials.
Also, a campaign of back-to-school must be started by the states and the central government must provide the necessary support to them. The budget must include all expenses of this campaign. The campaign will be held in different training centers and also will help children having a poor financial background.
Next, this budget should cover the gender and social inclusion funds that come under the National Education Policy 2020. Girls, transgenders, or children belonging to disadvantaged family backgrounds have the risk of losing almost half of their education of the total years. And this budget should conduct campaigns to bring back these children to the ray of education.
Lastly, this budget should also fund to implement the Right to Education Act. By funding this act, more schools with proper infrastructure could be made. And students will be again interested to return to the schools.
This new budget has a lot of expectations to fulfill. Because education is the sector that really deserves the highest attention of the government. And it is to be seen whether this new budget will help the marginalized students to revive their education or not.
