Jammu and Kashmir Polytechnic Entrance Test 2020 or JKPET 2020 is the entrance examination for admission to Dip. (Civil Engg.), Dip. (Electrical Engg.), Dip. (Mechanical Engg.), Dip. (Automobile Engg.), Dip. (Architectural Assistantship Engg.) and other courses. JKPET 2020 is conducted by The J&K Board of Professional Entrance Examinations.

The application forms will be available from 23/03/2020 till 30/07/2020. The exam is in written mode. The duration of the exam will be 180 minutes. It is being conducted in English language. The result date will be announced later.

Eligibility Criteria

  • The Applicant must:
    • be a resident of J&K or Ladakh, as the case may be;
    • have passed 10thClass Examination from a recognized Board/Institution;
    • have obtained not less than 37% of marks in aggregate in the qualifying examination in case of open merit candidates, not less than 35% of marks in aggregate in case of reserved category candidates.
    • he candidates appearing/ appeared in the qualifying examination are also eligible to appear in the Entrance Test but they have to upload/submit the qualifying examination certificate within the prescribed date to be notified separately.

Application Form Filling Instructions

General Instructions for filling up the Application Form

Students applying for the JKPET 2020 have to fill up the application form on the official site.
A student can submit the application for only once; multiple forms will be rejected.
The submission is ONLINE only. 
Requirements to be readied before you start filling up the Application Form of JKPET 2020
  • PC or a Laptop with Internet connectivity
  • Qualification details
  • Scanned copy of passport photograph in JPG or JPEG format (Size of file should be between 10KB – 50KB) Scanned copy of signature in JPG or JPEG format (Size of file should be between 10KB – 50KB).
  • Functional e-mail Id as all communication are made through email; Parents email id is recommended.
  • The interested candidates have to upload the following scanned original / self attested certificates in PDF format with size from 100-200 KB along with the Application Form
    • Valid Residence Proof certificate of J&K or Ladakh as the case may be
    • Qualifying marks certificate; ( where result is declared)
    • Date of Birth Certificate; and
    • Reserved category certificate, if any, (including Sports Certificate / TFW certificate) on the prescribed proforma. (Duly renewed where ever applicable) 
  • Mobile number as all information is sent through SMS too. Parents phone number can be used.
  • For online payments, usually a valid debit or credit card as well as Net B facility, Credit Cards & Debit Cards Service is a must.
  • Printer is required for keeping hard copies; if there is no printer, one can save the printouts, transfer them on to a pen drive and get it printed from a cyber-café.
  • It is recommended to download the information Bulletin Brochure and read it carefully so that you understand various requirements to fill up the form.

Candidates are not allowed to make any correction at a later stage after submission of an application. O correction is entertained via post, fax, email or by hand.

The Usual Steps in filling up the Online Application Form of the JKPET 2020

Step-1: Students have register for Online Application Form. A login and Password are created.

Step-2: Student has to Complete the Application Form and its various sections

Step-3: Required documents in the form of Scanned Images of Candidate’s Photograph, Candidate’s Signature and Left Thumb Impression.

Step-4: Payments have to be made by Net Banking, Credit Cards, Debit Cards & Demand Draft

JKPET 2020 Exam Day Instructions

Examination Day Instructions

Examination Day Instructions : 
  • No candidate shall be allowed to enter Test Centre / venue without valid Admit Card in original;
  •  Candidates are expected to be in their seats at the reporting time of the Entrance Test;
  • No textual material, printed/ handwritten will be allowed in the hall. Candidates are advised not to carry any such material in the examination hall;
  • No candidate shall be allowed to enter examination hall for appearing in examination after the distribution of Answer Sheets; 
  • The candidates are not allowed to bring mobile phones/ calculators / pocket transistors/ electronic watches with facilities of calculator/slide rules, any form of table or any other such aid.
  • Tea, coffee, cold drinks or snacks are not allowed in the examination hall during the Entrance Test; 
  • Smoking in the examination hall is not allowed; 
  • The candidate must sit in the seat allotted to him/ her;
  • In no case a candidate can change his/ her seat;

Exam related instructions : 

  • It shall be the sole responsibility of the candidate to check the Question Booklet before attempting to answer any question. Where a Question Booklet has any missing page, blank page, missed question or damaged or defaced page, it shall be the responsibility of the concerned candidate to bring it into the notice of the concerned invigilator and get it replaced by a new Booklet of the same series. The Question Booklet must have 180 questions. No complaint in this regard shall be entertained by the Board after the conclusion of the examination;  
  • A candidate having less than ten (10) marks or less than as the marks as may be fixed by the Board shall not be considered for admission.
  • At the top of the OMR Sheet, there are few blanks which are to be filled in carefully; 
  • Write Question Booklet Number, Booklet series, and Roll Number in numerical and also darken the appropriate circles;
  • Write the given certification statement in your running handwriting in English and append your signature and left hand thumb impression at the space provided for the purpose on your OMR Sheet. This certificate is to be authenticated by the invigilator and superintendent of the examination centre; 
  • Complete the formalities and wait for the signal to start, tear and open the seal of Question Booklet, begin reading and answering the questions;
  • Ensure that the circle is completely darkened. Incomplete or faintly darkened circle will be rejected by the Optical Scanner and consequently no marks/negative mark will be awarded for the same. 
  • If more than one circle is darkened or if the response is marked in any other manner   it shall be treated as a wrong. 
  • The examination centres will open 15 minutes before the reporting time of the Entrance Test on the day of examination,
