Mahatma Gandhi University of Medical Sciences and Technology Reserach Entrance Test for Ph.D. 2020 or MGUMST RET 2020 is the entrance examination for admission to Ph.D. (Medicine), Ph.D. (Dental Science), Ph.D. (Nursing), Ph.D. (Physiotherapy) and Ph.D. (Occupational Therapy). MGUMST RET 2020 is conducted by Mahatma Gandhi University of Medical Sciences and Technology.

MGUMST RET for the year 2020 has been announced by Mahatma Gandhi University of Medical Sciences and Technology and will be held on 09/10/2020. The exam is in written mode. The duration of the exam will be 90 minutes. It is being conducted in English language. Result is expected to be announced on 12/10/2020.

MGUMST RET 2020 Eligibility Criteria

The minimum Academic Qualifications required for MGUMST RET 2020 required are passed Master's degree in MD / MS / DNB / M.Sc. / MDS / MPT / MOT in respective subject with at least 55% marks in the aggregate or equivalent GPA. For admission to the Ph.D. course in the Faculty of Nursing, a candidate must have passed M.Sc. (Nursing) with at least 60% marks in aggregate.

A relaxation of 5% marks, or an equivalent relaxation of grade, will be allowed for those belonging to SC / ST / OBC - NCL / MBC - NCL / Differently - abled category candidates. 

Candidates possessing M.Sc. in any of the above mentioned subjects are eligible for Ph.D. program only in the respective subject.

    Exemption from appearing MGUMST RET 2020 –

    Following shall be exempted from the written Entrance Examination. They will however be required to appear for Interview & Viva-voce for interaction and research aptitude assessment - 

    • Those candidates who have qualified UGC / CSIR NET or SLET / INSPIRE examination.
    • A foreign student on a cultural exchange fellowship / Government grant. Foreign student shall be considered only if he / she has come on research visa.

    Application Form Filling Instructions

    Students applying for the MGUMST RET 2020  have to fill up the application form on the official site. A student can submit the application for only once; multiple forms will be rejected.  

    • It should be neatly and completely filled in by the candidate himself / herself. All necessary enclosures must be sent along with the application form to the University.

    Examination Day Instructions

    Before entering the Exam Centre

    • Try to reach the exam centre one hour prior to the time advised in the admit card.  
    • Before leaving for the site, please have a hearty breakfast or light lunch depending on the session. Drink plenty of fluids; as in summers dehydration can set in affecting your performance in the exam.
    • Have a cookie or a chocolate just before entering the centre; this prevents hypoglycaemia and thus helps you stay alert longer improving your results.
    • If it is a busy centre, then don’t wait till last for the entry and security check.
    • Centre will not allow you to enter after the stipulated time of closing the doors.
    • Admission to the Exam Centre is with the Admit Card; no candidates shall be admitted to the test without the production of the Admit Card at the Test Centre.
    • Usually no bags are allowed.
    • No eatables are allowed.
    • No communication equipment such as mobile phones / pager / wireless set / scanner / camera or any such electronic / digital gadget etc are allowed in the exam centre; carrying one will lead to disqualification.

    After entering the centre

    • Once candidates enter the centre, they should locate their designated hall and seat.  
    • No candidate shall be allowed to leave the examination hall / room before the expiry of half of the time allotted for the respective paper.
    • For Objective Type question papers, rough work is to be done in the space provided for this purpose. No rough work is allowed on the OMR Answer Sheet under any situation.
    • Questions have to be answered on the answer sheet only.
    • Copying, use of unfair means of any kind, talking, asking questions from other candidates or borrowing of material inside the Test Centre is strictly prohibited.
    • The candidates are to return their OMR answer - sheets and the question paper in full to the Centre Superintendent. Tearing or taking away of the question paper is not allowed failing which the candidates shall be disqualified from the entire Entrance Test.
    • Smoking is a not allowed.
    • Misbehaviour of any kind can lead to expulsion of the candidate.
    • Caught copying helping in copying will mean cancellation of the answer sheet / cancellation of the candidature.
    • Marking the answer sheet or question paper in any way will also lead to cancellation of the exam for that candidate.

    Candidates shall be required to collect their admit cards between 9 : 00 A.M. and 10 : 30 A.M. on the day of the MGUMST RET 2020 from Reception counter of the Mahatma Gandhi Medical College (Mahatma Gandhi University of medical Sciences and Technology campus) Sitapura, Jaipur – 302022. No admit card will be issued after 10:30 A.M.

    Candidates will be required to secure at least 50% marks in the MGUMST RET 2020 to be eligible for appearing at the interview / viva - voce.
