Candidates from State Open Schools recognized by the State Government and the National Institute of Open School (NIOS) recognized by the Central Government are also eligible, provided they have studied Science subjects and English. English is a compulsory subject in 10+2 for eligibility for admission to the B.Sc. (Nursing) program. (3) Color-blind candidates are eligible, provided they wear color-corrective contact lenses or spectacles. (4) Candidates must be medically fit. (5) Married candidates are also eligible for admission. (6) Students shall be admitted once a year. (7) The selection of candidates shall be based on the merit of the entrance examination. The entrance test shall comprise Aptitude for Nursing (20 marks), Physics (20 marks), Chemistry (20 marks), Biology (20 marks), and English (20 marks). The minimum qualifying criteria for admission to the B.Sc. Nursing program are as follows: General Category - 50th percentile, SC/ST/OBC Category - 40th percentile, General-PwD - 45th percentile, SC/ST/OBC-PwD - 40th percentile. The entrance test shall be conducted by the University or the State Government. (8) Reservation Policy: (a) Reservation of Seats: Reservation for admission to Nursing Colleges for SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PH candidates shall be subject to the reservation policy and eligibility criteria prescribed by the Central Government, State Government, or Union Territory as applicable to the respective college. For candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC categories, the marks required in the three core subjects shall be 40% instead of 45% for General Category candidates. (b) Reservation for Disability: A 5% disability reservation shall be considered for candidates with loco-motor disabilities ranging from 40% to 50% of the lower extremity. Other eligibility criteria regarding qualification shall remain the same as those prescribed for General Category candidates. Additionally, the upper age limit shall be relaxed by 5 years for disabled candidates.
