In order to seek admission into the M.Tech. programme a student must hold a Bachelor Degree in Engineering/Technology, M.Sc.( Computer Science) or MCA with a good academic back ground. The Department offers two-year-Master degree in Mathematics.

After passing M. Sc. in physics the students are eligible for this course. The selection is based on entrance test followed by Viva-Voce. During Viva-Voce, the career points in the qualifying examinations are taken into account.

Admission into all M. Phil courses shall be done through an entrance test followed by an interview. The Test shall comprise of one paper of 100 marks (50 marks Objective Type Questions and 50 marks for short-answer type questions) of two hour duration. The Question Paper shall cover all the papers taught at the Post-Graduate level of the concerned subject of Berhampur University. For Post Graduate programme in Home Science only women students with subjects - Home Science/Psychology/Sociology/ Economics/Education/Anthropology/Botany/ Zoology/ Nursing are eligible for the admission.

Students seeking admission into Master in I.R. and P.M. course, have to pay at the time of admission, a one-time academic and other fee of Rs. 10,000/- (Rupees Ten thousand) only in addition to the fees prescribed by the University as at SL. NO. XIII above.

Rs. 12,500/ per Semester. (Rs. 50,000/- for four semesters). Rs.25,000 to be paid for the 1st and 2nd Semesters at the time of admission. The remaining Rs.25,000/- to be paid at the time of readmission at the commencement of 3rd Semester.

For admission into M.Phil in Commerce programme the applicant must be

• Post Graduate in Commerce securing given percentage of marks as prescribed in the prospectus .
• Entrance Examination.
• Viva voce/Interview.

Entry to the program is through University Research Eligibility Test (URET) conducted by Chairman PG Council, that is to be conducted once in a year, preferably in the month of November. Questions for the test include both objective and subjective type of questions covering the core areas of computer science at the Masters degree level.

As per the prevelaing regulation of the University a candidate in order to enroll for Ph. D. has to qualify in the University Research Entrace Test (URET) or National Entrace Test (NET) conducted by CSIR - UGC or Through the award of DST- ISPIRE or Rajiv Gandhi National Fellowship and MANF by the UGC.

D.Sc. is the highest degree offered by the University in science. A scholar with proven high academic calibre in plant science, evident from at least two research papers published in high impact journals are normally allowed for D.Sc. registration.

The candidates are entered into the course through URET (written test) followed by personal interview. However, NET, GATE qualified and the student who completed their M.Phil. (through written test) can directly appear for personal interview.

A candidate who already posses a proven track record of high quality research can register for the D.Sc. programme in Computer Science. He/She can carry out further research and submit a thesis with his/her research findings for adjudication.

Candidates are eligible to undergo D.SC. programme after completion of Ph. D in the relevant subjects and should have at least three research articles published in international/national peer reviewed journals of repute.

There is no course work for D.Sc.

A candidate in order to enroll for Ph. D. must be a Post Graduate or above in Mathematics securing given percentage of marks as per the prospectus and has to qualify any one of the following:

The School of Pharmaceutical Education and Research, offers PhD to unique, highly motivated individuals who qualify in URET. The programme consists of six months course work, followed by an original research project leading to a final thesis or dissertation. Students may select to specialize in different spheres of pharmaceutical sciences, as their area of study.

Our department offers D.Sc programme in solid state, nuclear and particle physics. After completion of Ph.D Degree in a preferable branch in physics, one can apply for D.Sc programme in concerned branch. In this program, the candidate will work under a supervisor. However he/she has to work almost independently.

There shall be one URET examination conducted by the University, once each year. URET qualified candidates are required to appear one viva-voce test conducted by the department. The qualified candidates can admit into the pre-Ph.D. course, which is of six months duration, like that of M. Phil. Those who qualify in the pre-Ph.D. examination can go for registration for Ph. D.

Pre Ph. D course work is compulsory for all the candidates qualifying URET Examination conducted by the University. The course work shall comprise of two papers of 100 marks each. One paper shall be on Research Methodology which may include quantitative techniques and computer applications. Other paper shall be in general on the broad areas of Home Science. After completing the coursework successfully, the candidate will be asked to register for Ph. D work.

The department accommodates research scholars from candidates qualifying in UGC NET / JRF candidates and also the URET (University Research Entrance Test) conducted by the University from time to time.

Candidates have to appear University Research Entrance Test (URET) to be eligible for admission in the Ph.D course work. Applicants who have qualified NET conducted by UGC, CSIR or similar test accredited by the UGC like SLET / SET can be exempted from URET. Final Selection of the candidate will be done through personal interview by the selection committee.

Students are selected through URET / UGC - NET / UGC - JRF. The Dept. provides a supporting atmosphere to carry out advanced research in the diverse aspects of Linguistics. Consequently, the department has witnessed very committed researchers producing original work by implementing various updated research methodologies.

Candidates shall make an application available at the university to appear at the UNIVERSITY RESEARCH ELIGIBILITY TEST (URET).

D.Litt. in Berhampur University gives scholars a multi-disciplinary set of opportunities to work in different areas of researches. The department allows the scholars to choose a topic from varied subjects pertaining to Linguistics to work under the supervision of a guide.

Provided that college teachers and professionals with 15 years of experience can be allowed to register for Ph.
